... just for the record, I did contact the Advertikon developer, he responded to my email within minutes, gave me the solution (was my bad), and that extension also works flawlessly.

Thanks for the info. To keep things simple, I am charging one flat % Sales Tax for all of California, and absorbing (paying) the extra 1/4-1/2% myself for those Counties/Towns having extra Sales Tax surcharges. Problem Solved - Turned out I had added an Extension that became a CPU & DB resource hog when the number of items was above 300+.
