Hi all - Longtime Opencart 1.x user, just brought up our first 2.x OC site.
Did a clean 2.2 installation, with vqmod, added payment extensions & enabled them, etc. Added 1 Product.
Now I am having trouble with the final step of the Checkout process when testing the store.
- When I use the Stripe extension (from Advertikon) & our Stripe acct info, when I test out the purchase of a product using a <real> credit card in live mode) when I get to the very end of the checkout after entering my credit card info, & submit it to "purchase", I immediately get a message that says "Creating a token card..." with a spinning gear that just stays that way forever.
- So I decide to test it out using Paypal Pay Flo Pro (the one where you enter your Vendor, User, pwd, PayPal name, not the one where you enter API info) I get to the same step in the checkout process, submit the credit card for purchase, and the Error I am given is "Warning: Payment Module Configuration Error. Please verify the Login Credentials".
(I AM able to checkout if I do not use any payment gateway, for example, Pay by Check or the Free/COD checkout).
In both cases, there is nothing in the error logs (Nor PHP Logs) to indicate any issue. Stripe is new for us, but we have the PayPal credentials operating fine in other stores ... from what I can see, it is not simply a "Login credential" error.
Has anyone seen this type of error, have any ideas how to fix, or even just how to troublehoot??
For the Advertikon extension, you're unlikely to find anyone able to help you here. You should contact the developer for support. It sounds like either there's a bug in the extension, or you might have a mod that affects the checkout process, and it's running into an error.
If you can't get it working and want a solution that does, my Stripe Payment Gateway includes code to handle errors generated by other mods, and still complete the order properly. Let me know if you have any questions about it.
For the PayPal issue, if you DO have a mod that affects the checkout process, my guess is that it's the same issue (generating an error so it won't complete). Try disabling mods one-by-one until you find the one that is affecting it. If you can't find anything, you may need to hire someone to take a look at your installation for you. If you need to find a developer, I recommend you post a request in the OpenCart "Commercial Support" forum, which is checked by a number of OpenCart developers. You can also try checking out the OpenCart "Partners" area.

Thank you Johnathan. I am going to try your Stripe extension. Will be well worth a few dollars if it solves my problem!
One question regarding Stripe (or any other "brand" of payment extensions) to replace Paypal in OpenCart: Is Stripe a "one for one" replacement for Paypal in Opencart ... meaning do I need to do anything else (Like add an SSL Certificate?) if I want to UNinstall my current Paypal extension and Install & use Stripe instead? Other than of course opening a Stripe account and configuring all correctly).

1. Yes, you always need an SSL certificate if someone is entering card info in on your site, including for Stripe. They do not offer a hosted payment page like PayPal does.
2. Stripe cannot accept PayPal accounts, so if you want to accept PayPal you'll need to keep some type of PayPal gateway enabled. If you want something that can accept both PayPal and credit cards in OpenCart, Braintree is able to do that, and my Braintree Payment Gateway supports both methods.
Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site, and if you're interested let me know at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have any further questions.
