Help! I messed up big time - Version 4.1.0.3

Hi All

Newbie here.

I was trying to install a new theme and I think I deleted something I was not supposed to in cpanel and I managed to break the entire site.

I get this error on the homepage:

There is nothing on the dashboard when I am in my admin panel but if I look through categories, products etc thats all still there

when I go to extensions and try see themes there are 0, even the default opencart theme is gone

I have tried to restore a backup from the admin panel and it says it completes but nothing changes it still gives me the same error and I have no dashboard.

I am starting a new business so I dont really have funds to pay someone to do these things for me so I have been mostly trying to figure it out on my own with the help of google and ai but I think I deleted something I wasnt supposed to

I have tried to re-upload the opencart files to the public_html folder on cpanel but that isnt fixing it either - it was something in that folder I deleted.

If anyone can tell me how to fix I would really appreciate it

Do you have a file here model/extension/opencart/total/
named sub_total.php?

It's saying it can't load the model, not the file.

So I suspect the wrong PHP version is selected.

Having said that, I suggest you start again with version 3.0.4.1 which is the version most developers recommend at this point.

I am willing to start from scratch but I had someone who helped me load it onto Cpanel in the first place so I dont know how to do that either.

Opencart 4 has many bugs and it is definitely not advised for a beginner.

To fix that specific issue you can just upload the original file back - but something has gone wrong for it to be missing - so in addition to the bugs that are already present you have another issue and if one file is missing then you will have to reinstall anyway from a trusted download - ie the link above and any other even via your hosts quick link "versions"


I would also advise you ask your host about backups - check they are automatic and check how to do them yourself. Back ups are files and database. Make sure you understand and are able to do both yourself.
DO NOT RELY ON THE OPENCART DEFAULT BACKUP

There are plenty of professionals who would help. Post in the commercial support section in the first instance.

As above, you could pay a developer such as ourselves or post a job in the Commercial Support Forum.

Thank you for all the help. I managed to get most of it back.

I have a new problem now though. Even with the default theme the homepage looks weird, almost like its not loading properly. I have had a look at the layouts etc and everything seems the same as it was. Any idea what I need to look at to fix this?

The products normal buttons dont seem to be loading and the footer layout has gone weird

More info needed.
What did you do to "get most of it back"? Did you restore files? We can't really help without details on what you've done before and now to know where the gaps are.

All we can see is that your product thumbs are not showing Opencart default - so maybe your theme has not uninstalled properly.
Since it is a new store with very few products it really would be better to install Opencart 3.0.4.1 and start again.
