I am using Opencart 2 for the first time and it is looking very neat. However, one major problem I am experiencing is the failure to receive emails when someone makes a purchse. I tried different emails, multiple emails, and nothing, simply no notification so I have no way of knowing when I have a sale except by logging into Opencart every few minutes for now.
Any advice to help me solve the problem will be greatly appreciated

I've got the same issue here, have you get any additional emails specified in the mail section of the website settings in admin?
I've worked around it by getting a mandril account and changing to smtp - it seems to work now for me.

Yes, of course I set the option of receiving emails, it is the first thing I did. Using a different software would be ok with me if it werent because it is such a basic thing that any cart system should have working seamlessly. Is there anyone who has found the solution to this problem?

I've had this same problem, emails work if it's from a new account, or the contact form, but not with orders, either to me or the customer.
I've just taken Onlinemarketers advice and set up a Mandrill account, and now it's all working fine. Can't quite understand why Opencart works with the Mandrell SMTP settings but not with my normal email providers SMTP?
