mode offline enable - no works

i have installed opencart 1.5.4.1 in server iPage.com

and installation fine.

but have a problem. mode maintenance.
if logged as admin, i can view my site, allrtight? but no! no can.

if i insert right url "/index.php?route=common/home" works fine.
www.example.com/index.php?route=common/home

I'm new to IPage too and faced this same problem. After editing the necessary files, you can use the front-end.
But still error on seo url pages. Did you manage to solve that?

In time I found this and helped me solve the problem.

Edit the php.ini files (php.ini, admin/php.ini, install/php.ini) and add this line:

session.save_path = /home/users/web/b2172/ipg.sandjhu/cgi-bin/tmp;

change the /home/users/web/b2172/ipg.sandjhu/ part to your docroot.
