Hi,

This is my second webshop with OpenCart, its very good, stable and light webshop app.
everything works fine exept the vqmod. At my other webshop its working good.

They are at the same hostingprovider, i dont know what i am doing wrong?

a quick checklist:

1. Uploaded opencart
2. Installed, checked the config.php
3. Webshop functionals perfect.
4. Uploaded vqmod from the website (http://code.google.com/p/vqmod/)
5. Go to http://www.mydomain.com/vqmod/install.php

and here its going wrong i get an error:

ONE OR MORE FILES COULD NOT BE WRITTEN

Check that index.php and admin/index.php are writable (0755 or 0775 or 0777).

Shouldn't it be go to website.com/vQmod/install/? (step 5)

Change startup.php and both index.php to 777 instead of 755

You need to make sure that both the files and the folder containing the files have write permissions, so index.php, admin/index.php, admin/ and the folder containing the index.php (httpdocs, public_html, htdocs, www) should all have write permissions.

Once that is done, you need to go to http://www.yourstore.com/vqmod/install/ as MarketingSG has said, not /vqmod/install.php as that should throw a 404 error

The permissions you should try for them should be the following
755
if that fails
775
if that fails
777

If all of that fails, get in touch with your host. Also as a precaution, re-upload both index files

I had same problem. If your admin folder name is changed to something else, try renaming it back to "admin", install vqmod, then rename it back to whatever it was before.

just had the same problem: It's the shops standard index.php and admin/index.php, NOT the ones inside the vqmod-folder. That hint would help a lot in the readme :)

I have the same problem, I have changed the files index.php from the root folder and from the Admin Folder. I make the change thru the cPanel of my hosting, GoDaddy, because I try to change it from the FTP program, File-Zilla, but it doesn't work. Once I change the permission's file, I refresh my website and display a message that VQMod Installed Succesfully, BUUUUUT!!!! When I go to my Front-end web page result that it gave me to me a big problem: "Internal Server Error" . I have NO IDEA how to fix this problem, right now I can view, use my web site.

This is a Error 500 Internal Server Error
>>"Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.""<<

Someoone who knows how to fix this problem PLEASE!! Thanks You!!

This can mean many things. check in ftp for error.log file in the root of your store or find ways to enable real error reporting on your site: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=170&t=50555
