Re: Advanced Product Options

Suppose you wanted to sort Products with special prices , based on % savings over normal price , with greatest saving potential products appearing before those with lower savings, how would you or should we go about it? Do the great developers of Opencart modules feel up to grabbing this challenge a...

Poor or no Support from Developer

I would like to complain about "waabay" whose module "Multi Vendor Drop shipper VQMod" (Extension ID: 5213), priced high at $159.90, is full of holes - not bugs, but basic functions required for administering a multi-vendor program are missing. Just to give you an example: commis...

Re: OC 1.5.5,1 Admin Categories Pagination

Thanks. I use a number of extensions. Last installed: Ultimate SEO Package. I uninstalled, cleared System & VQMod and browser Cache and retried. The problem did not go away.

OC 1.5.5,1 Admin Categories Pagination

I have 168 categories/subcategories & have chosen in System > Settings > Option: 20 items per page for Admin. So there ought to be 9 pages, with page 1 from category #1 to #20, page 2 from category #21 to #40 ... and so on. I find 9 pages, but funnily every page has all the 168 items ??? Has any...

Re: Redirecting domain to OC in subfolder

I came acroos an article titled "How to host the Primary Domain from a sub-folder" using ".htaccess" here: https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/347 It essentially advocates using a ".htaccess" in the root: # BlueHost.com # .htaccess main domain to subdirectory redirect # Co...

Re: Peculiar error 1242

@thegeekz

I did & he said: "if the data is entered properly in the excel template, there shouldn't be any problem". I reckon I have entered data properly, to the best of my knowledge, but still the problem persists.

Re: Peculiar error 1242

Thanks. But JNeuhoff's extension requires uploading the entire lot of products, after editing the exported file. This is a bit risky. Whereas, this extension allows incremental additions. I might add that, in this extension, for both export/import by Product IDs and by batches, we have to specify th...

Re: Peculiar error 1242

Thanks, butte.
Frankly I didn't keep track of this aspect - I might have used both types of imports on different occasions. But right now I am scared to use this extension. Once I use it again I will track the difference & let you know. Thanks for your inputs again & regards.

Re: Peculiar error 1242

The error appearance is consistently repetitive. Happens whenever I add or do a change to products & when any new extension affecting products is added. Each time the error message appears on a different product - but does not stop with just one. I open the offending product (edit) in admin &...

Re: Redirecting domain to OC in subfolder

Thanks very much, butte.

I was wondering re: htaccess (Section 'B' above) whether it is necessary to specify Rewitebase as "/test/", since we have declared in config file's http/https sections "test.mysite.com" (not "mysite.com")

Re: Counter scathing criticism?

Hi Q Thanks for your very detailed reply. I must admit some of it is likely to go over the heads of non-techies like me, but we can understand most of it concerning general principles of Opencart architecture and coding pattern, that you have taken pains to explain. Thanks for the effort you have ta...

Counter scathing criticism?

I am an ardent fan of Opencart since we started using it one year ago. I think its a great open souce platform with tremendous flexibility for users, what with the large and ever-increasing array of extensions. ;D However, I was very disturbed to read the following article titled "Why you shoul...

Re: Remove Subdirectory from URL's/Links

Its like this. My current store is working well at http://mysite.com. It is a "root" installation, using OC 1.5.4.1 & theme 'x'. I have developed a revised version in a subdirectory "newstore", with OC 1.5.5.1 & theme 'y' (the OC version upgrade is necessary, as theme 'y'...

Re: Remove Subdirectory from URL's/Links

@MarketInSG Hi Please refer to your post dated April 29, 2013 in advice to "den9191" to remove subdirectory reference from all URL's/ links: look into your config.php file. Remove all /store from the links. All generated links will be without /store now Does this have to be done, along wit...
