Our customers like it if the order confirmation email includes product photos - this way, they can quickly scan the email and know the products are correct, without having to read the mail. Additionally all product names and photos are linked to the respective product pages.

Product photos in order emails are good for us as well: Due to local regulations we have a high turnover of inventory and packaging staff and giving printouts or order emails containing images helps get them off the ground quicker with less training required.

This extension adds product images to the order confirmation email. Especially good to have in combination with Copy customer order confirmation for owner mod
Because this is a vQmod, no core files are touched, and the changes should carry over to the next version.

Requirements

1. You need OpenCart preinstalled.
2. You must have vQmod preinstalled.
3. This vQmod is made for the default theme. Hence you should have the default theme as the active theme for this to work. v1.5 expands support for other themes, so try it on your custom theme...if it works, fantastic! If it doesn't, you need some custom work done. If you'd like me to do paid customization to make this extension compatible with your theme, please PM me

Installation

1. Download the latest version of the extension compatible with your version of Opencart from http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=7102
2. Unzip using a program such as WinZip, WinRar or Windows's inbuilt compressor
   (In Windows, right click on the downloaded zip file, and select Extract All)
3. Use an FTP program such as FileZilla to upload all contents of the uploads folder to your shop's root.

Photos not appearing in emails?

• Make sure none of the product images have a space in the filename.
• Some email programs wouldn't show images in emails by default. In such cases, they would GENERALLY have an option to "always show images from this sender" or at least "show images in this message". You'll need to click on that.
• Also, if you haven't set up spf records, it might be a good idea to set them up. This will authenticate to the recipient server that the mail is from you and lower your spam rate. Some email providers will also use this to display your email images by default.

You might have heard developers complain about managing compatibility with multiple browsers. Well, email systems are a hundred times worse. Not only are email systems very different from each other, but it is also very difficult to control for them from the developer-end.

In your particular case, it could simply be a matter of clicking "always display images from this sender" - which you might have done in Yahoo! but not in Gmail.

Also, as mentioned in the documentation, please ensure that none of your images have spaces in their filenames.

Is there for opencart Version 1.5.5.1?

This is a very useful mod! The only problems I have is the Image does not appear in email. I'm using Windows Live Mail. Next is that I use a modified order confirmation mail. How can I add the Images and link to it? I only want to use your Images on mail mod, not the copy one. Thanks!

Really depends on what is modified. If you have just modified the copy (text) or moved things around without messing with the elements, then the extension should work. If you have made significant changes to the code, esp to the elements, then you'll need to grab the image URL for each product from the database.

It does.

Just tried on 1.5.6 and pictures are not showing up in email.. using also your Copy customer order confirmation for owner 1.2 and this one is working good..

This extension modifies the order confirmation email sent to customers. So direct answer to your question is it sends photos only to customers.

If you want to receive photos as admin too, then use BOTH:

1. This mod, and
2. Copy customer order confirmation for owner mod

Testing right now.

The both modules send email, but like in the picture.
Opencart version 1.5.5.1. Tested with default theme (without modification).
With vqmod 2.3.2, 2.4.0



Any ideas?

I do that, but only display store logo, not product image.
