Our server needs an OS upgrade, I'm trying to avoid / delay upgrading the store. I'm looking at maybe moving to a Cloudlinux / Cpanel server.

No, it will not.
To be more precise, it will, but you will get many messages about incompatibility because of the php-version.
Using php 8.x you have to use the latest 3.0.4.1 release: https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... load_id=79

And why not updating the php-version also?
You're loosing all benefits of php 8.x (security, faster loading, etc.) when continuing with php 7.3

A lot depends on what extensions and custom coding you're using too. An upgrade might not be as bad as you think. If you'd like to reach out, I can provide you with more information.world-of-satellite wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 3:42 pmWe're not upgrading the PHP version, we're currently using PHP 7.3 and will continue using PHP 7.3.
