Hi Leon,

Unfortunately no. I need to be able to reproduce the error on my test server so as to narrow it down and fix it. Maybe you can reduce your spreadsheet to the bare minimum cabable of resulting in the error?

I just installed/uploaded the newest version of Opencart 1.3.2 and the most up to date version of OpenCart Export-Import.

My PHP version is 5.0. Am using GoDaddy for hosting [please no boos or hisses]. At the moment for testing purposes, opencart is loaded on it's own subdirectory. Once upload and download testing were complete we plan on moving opencart to root directory and finish the "moving in" process.

I have followed instructions as to Tools/Export being enabled.

The first thing I did was to attempt a backup and received the following:

Error: Access denied for user 'opencartdata'@'%' to database ''opencartdata'
Error No: 1044
SHOW TABLES FROM `'opencartdata`

What did I do wrong?

Would someone give proper step-by-step instruction to downloading and uploading database? Need to accomplish task soon, please!

Thanks to all that shed light on my turmoil.

your user doesn't have the required rights on the database. Thats what 1044 is, anyway.

Thanks, but your reponse is totally confusing to me. I have not seen or aware of anywhere to make access available to MySQL database through OpenCart.

Your DB user, as used by Opencart, and as specified in the config.php, needs sufficient access rights for the 'opencartdata' database for the 'SHOW TABLES' command. The latter command is used by the Export/Import module. You set set the DB user rights via your PHPMyAdmin.

I'm totally lost again. I have fumbled around in PHPMyAdmin and still clueless as to what you are telling me. How do I set the DB user rights via your PHPMyAdmin?

Thank you for all your help. From the tips and hints I have received in post(s) I have been able to upload Categories to my website. Product is not uploading at all ??? but I am working, reading and studying! Major learning curve going on here.

What is the correct entry on the "Product" sheet of filename.xls in the Category column? Is the following entry correct ? parent_id (###),category_id (###),category_id (###) Are commas correct? Is this a source of part of my problem?

Thanks for your continued help and support.

I have tried to install this on my cart but when I try the export function my server reports an 500 error. My server runs on iis 7 so do not know why it reports a sever error? All of the other cart functions and modules I have added work fine so if anyone has a reason why this one fails please let me know. Instructions were followed to the "T" and permissions were set?

The error log will tell you more about your 500 Internal Server Error.

In general, don't use IIS, use Apache, for your server. I will be only testing the Export/Import module on Apache servers.
