Oddly, I was getting the demo products showing up in my feed, but now that I've deleted them and installed real products, they are not showing up in the feed anymore. Is there a setting or something I might be overlooking?

Hey Simon, tried to email you through your website but not sure i did it correctly as was using my phone :)Anyway, thought i'd ask it here in case others have the same question.

Two questions actually.

1) I installed Google Base last September and just wondered if there's anything essential that's been added since that means i should really update (particularly if seo related).

2) Does the feed support Google Merchant/Shopping reviews now? If not any plans as I REALLY want this feature :)

Keep up the great work!

Best,
Joan

Hi Joan,

Sorry, didnt get an email from you (at least I cant find one if I did)

The extension now supports product reviews yes.

You may want to hold off a short time on upating though as i will be releasing an update imminently to add more functionality to the extension such as saving the feed file, generating a feed for Bing Shopping, The Find, Shopzilla etc

Great news thanks Simon and sorry for slow response. A few more quick questions as have been after this functionality for about 6 months :-)

1. Does the reviews functionally work with opencart 1.4.9.4? So I just download latest version.

2. Do the reviews get totalled up and appear under the shop name (in google shopping) or appear individually for each product?

3. Will the review stars appear in google SERPs ?

4 If I update, does that mean I don't need to buy this?

Thanks again :-)

Hi Joan,

Reviews are available for all versions of OC (1.4.9.4 included)

Each product if it has reviews gets the total number of reviews and the average rating uploaded with the product.

This has nothing to do with Rich Snippets, which is a totally separate *new markup on your actual site pages (I believe), so you would probably need that other extension if you want to take advantage of this new feature from Google.

Hi Simon,
I've got myself in a bit of a mess with your recent update. I had manually installed the mod before
and tried to do the same again.

The problem i have is that in the admin screen, when i edit a product i can see the old set of fields from your previous version AND the set of fields from your new version. Somehow - i'm not getting any errors but i'm a bit worried that there might be other areas broken. Is there a way i can test this?

The other issues is the sitemap. Again no errors, but i'm only seeing two lines being produced rather than hundreds of products etc

Any tips would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Joan

Hello,

I am new here I dont even know how to make a post here.... i need some help... We have set an account on google merchant account for USA

Today we have tried to put our data feed for google. Google has given a example that your file name should be like data_feed.txt.

So that I did I took backup of my opencart portal and It came as backup.sql. I just renamed the sql file to .txt file and I put that file name in the place where google gives you to write your file name I gave backup.txt

google has accepted it and I got a note that your data is good. but few mins later I got a message that X or X is missing shipping and tax method.

I want to make sure if I did it correct or I need to do something else to make it correct ? other thing is how to set up tax and shipping for google product feeds ???

Any Help shall be highly appreciated for this.

Regards
Hemant

I dont mean to sound awful but I am gobsmacked that Google accepted a backup of your database renamed as a text file.

I am sure you will receive a lot more errors/warnings from google regarding your submission.

This is a wind up post right?

Any plans to work on product options?

I'd like each option to be exported as a seperate product, no idea how that fits in with google's guidelines, but i thought i'd ask. :)

After sending 3 PM's, which have been completely ignored I thought I would post here.

I understand that it is not advisable to PM Moderators for generic help but these messages were clearly regarding YOUR base feed module. Why on Earth potential customers are ignored, completely escapes my understanding.

Admittedly, I did overlook a couple of features in the module description and I apologise for asking questions which I have now realised were covered in your description. However, you could have simply made a quick reply to point this out. There is also the question regarding the URL fallback feature which still remains unanswered.

I know and appreciate the low price that these modules sell for. However, I am only looking for a reply that should not take more than a minute or two.

Do I have to purchase this first before I can request answers, with the potential that it may not be suitable? Or is it unreasonable to expect that I could clarify a couple of features prior to purchase to avoid disappointment?

Please note that I am not posting this to start a discussion of negative tone. I am simply hoping that it may be possible to understand if the modifications that I wish to make to the module are possible or not.

Hi Simon,

EDIT****************

I seem to be getting a a problem with my data feed failing.

I have around 340 products (so not many) and the module has been functioning fine for months.

Originally the feed was set to upload in one feed. After receiving the errors I have tried to split the feed in the admin settings into 2 feeds. When i do this the first feed (up to product 249) fails and the second feed works fine.

If i break it down to 4 feeds of upto 100 products then all the feeds work except the first one (up to product 100)

Is it possible I have changed a product description or something on one of my first 100 products that is causing this to fail.

I dont beleive it is server related as the server is a dedicated box with more than enough guts to run this (and it had historically been running fine), and it does seem to be something specific to the feed that contains the first 100 products that causes the error,

Many thnaks for any light you may be able to give on this,

EDIT ***************************************************

Hi,

I have tracked it down to item(s) that I had on special offer.

I am using an extension to manage my special products, i guess this is conflicting somewhere. As soon as i remove items off special offer the full feed works.

This is the mod i am using :

http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... _id=184391

I guess the items I had on offer were inside the first 100 products,

Do you think that these can work together Simon?

cheers,

anthony

best regards,

anthony

I have your Google Merchant Center Feed v1.0.2.4. Is it possible to generate a feed for Shopzilla with this module?
If so, how?

Hello Simon,

Not sure if I will receive an answer as I have tried repeatedly without success (not sure if you have something against me for some unknown reason)... But...

In reference to your feature to enable the full path product URL. If you would consider adding in the feature where if two products reside in multiple categories, the feed would fall back to the category of the lowest sort order (for OpenCart v1.5.1.3), I would purchase this module without hesitation!

5. Produce feeds for OpenCart Multi-Stores
oc v. 2.0.2
Switching from (2) separate stores to multi store how will this effect my items on google?

-I'm assuming that those assigned to store1.com will show up w/ links to store1.com and those assigned to store2.com will show up w/ links to store2.com, correct?

- If keywords are the same on the products, are there any changed on google's end that need to be done when running it as a multi store v/s 2 separate stores?

anything else I need to know about multi store and UKSB Goolge Merchant Feeds?
