I'm pretty sure that 1.5.0 will not come anywhere close to the stated deadline, and once it does come out I'm sure that there will be some growing pains for quite a few versions since there are so many changes and new features.

daniel made the mistake of giving a timeframe a while back I think he said end of August or some such nonsense.Qphoria wrote:There's a deadline? Hasn't even been started yet.. only discussed so I'd say there is no deadline at this time.

Now you see I am totally confused about what and when 1.5.0 is all about as there is clearly conflicting information around this forum.1.5.0 will be a completely different version with a lot of changes to the core and to the template system.
Check out this recent post regarding the new ebook about OC 1.4.0 (http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... blog_id=13) where forum member traceofwind asked if the new book would still be relevant for 1.5.0. Daniel said this:
"I think it will be all relvant. 1.5 does not have any core changes just new features added."
Can somebody clear his up for me (and anybody else who may be confused also).

I'm not going to fish for a release date for 1.50, as Zen Cart said two years ago they would soon be releasing the new 2.0 series..... Another developers spring deadline has long since passed by also.....

I'm just glad that developers don't work as vehicle mechanics. "Yes your car will be ready at 5pm".... LOL

I have to say that whilst I say that his is the best shopping cart around - paid or otherwise - I am a little disappointed to hear Q announce today that he is not aware of any deadline and that 1.5 hasn't even been started. The 'imminent' new features set out by Daniel (who I haven't seen around the forum much lately) is the reason I finally abandoned "Zen - version 2 will never come - Cart" and plunged my heart and soul and much money for mods into OC.1.5 will probably be released late August. I hope everybody can wait.

I would bet good money that opencart 1.5 will be out well before zencart 2.0. I would bet at least a little money that opencart 2.0 will be out before zencart 2.0robster wrote: I have to say that whilst I say that his is the best shopping cart around - paid or otherwise - I am a little disappointed to hear Q announce today that he is not aware of any deadline and that 1.5 hasn't even been started. Heh, ya I got tired of waiting for ZenCart 1.4.x so i went hunting and found opencart. 2.0 is just a way to delay 1.4 by saying it is that much greater. I think the release of OpenCart 1.x made zen go "oh shit" and decide they need more changesXsecrets wrote:I would bet good money that opencart 1.5 will be out well before zencart 2.0. 1.4.9 is still planned for release today. But as I can never leave well enough alone, I've went ahead and made a few more slight changes to the final version since RC3 was released
- Now when a country requires a postcode, an additional check is done to update the "required" flag on the postcode field (ahem.. mystifier

- Payment and Shipping Address are once again editable when editing an order. They also use ajax to update.
- Total and Subtotal will auto-update with ajax when editing products now as well. This was extremely sloppy to add in because we have no real addressing system for all the totals. It work and looks cool. Hopefully the mileage doesn't vary.
I'm not going to release them as RC4. They are pretty small changes and I've been testing them all day. So I will just sneak them into the final.
yeah would be nice if the order_total table had a class field like oscommerce. Makes these types of things much easier.Qphoria wrote:This was extremely sloppy to add in because we have no real addressing system for all the totals.
