If I remember it correctly the EHLO issue has been fixed in OC 3.0.4.1, try the latter.
I can’t update everything right now, maybe next year. Is there a fix in the meantime?

Looks like the general help guide is not enough for your case because everyone has tried helping you and it seems you need to hire a professional to help with your specific issue.

You can post into proper from section for paid help or can send me email as well.

Yes you can, you're only a few versions behind so it shouldn't be too hard.

Well it does do some retries if the response is slow but the most important lack of that smtp class is the error handling, it just states that EHLO is not accepted without saying why while that info is readily available.

Doesn't Office 365 smtp require OAuth 2.0 authentication?
’ll try upgrading our OC version, but could the issue actually be something that needs to be configured or permitted in the Microsoft 365 Admin dashboard?

I’m just concerned that some installed extensions might not be compatible.

That is indeed a valid concern. If you are upgrading from version 3.0.3.8, which supports up to PHP 7.4, to the latest 3.0.4.1, which requires PHP 8.2+, some of your modules may break due to compatibility issues. However, you can update or refactor those modules as long as you are comfortable with coding and making the necessary adjustments.
