When the customer fills in the "Add Comments..." box without first agreeing to the Terms & Conditions, the following issues occur:
An error message appears---"Order not Found! Please refresh the page".
The order confirmation email does not include the text entered in the "Comment" field.
Sometimes, the admin does not receive the order email at all.
However, if the customer checks the Terms & Conditions box before entering a comment, everything works as expected:
The system correctly includes the comment in the email.
The admin receives the order email with the comment included.
Can this be confirmed as a bug and anyone knows how to fix?
I couldn't recreate the issue. Maybe it has to do with some settings, theme or extension.
1. check your error logs
2. link to your site plus a way to test.
3. OC4 is not stable and has many bugs some of which have been resolved - others have not and some still not found. It is definitely not advised to use OC4 on a live site, OC 3.0.4.1 is available for download, is stable and supports php8.
4. If you are expecting bug fixes on this forum for all OC4 issues you are unlikely to be in luck at this time Very few "busy" developers are using OC4 on any regular basis as we re all too busy with what do do everyday and that is busy with OC3 and upgrading all our customers to OC3 on php8 and fixing modules / extensions / themes and custom work - we can only repeat over and over and over again - DO NOT USE OC4 on a live site unless you want to be a guinea pig and you are prepared to take additional precautions as you are making your customers guinea pigs also.
This is the brutal reality of the situation - a couple of good developers like ADD CREATIVE and JNEUHOFF are working extremely hard on both OC3 for php8 and OC4, but to answer all these issues with OC4 largely by themselves is not a small task - so if you want them to assist you - you will need to make it REALLY easy for them (or any one else who wants / has the time to try) to help you.
Alternatively take the good advice and downgrade to OC3.0.4.1
Please do not take this as a reprimand - it is not - it is genuine assistance for your benefit - we want to help you, the best help is dont use it, secondary to that - make it easier to help you - nothing can be done with "same setting as OC2" - if JNeuhoff says he can not reproduce it - and you say same settings - well that s a stale mate - and that means we have to start dragging information out of you - like error logs .. web address - list of extension .. and still it might be a setting that you "forgot" is different ..
