I use ChatGPT a bit and have used it to build and test code, including Javascript, with some success and have incorporated the results into a web app my customers use.
I asked it if it could write an Opencart Extension, and it said it could. I gave it instructions for a universal stock option extension I have been thinking about, and it came up with all the elements of the extension. I haven't tested it yet, but I have a test site where I'll give it a try.

I've not had chance to test it yet, hopefully in the next day or two.
The general idea of the extension is that it controls stock across the store, so for example if you sell T-Shirts of different colours and sizes and print different designs on them, you could have say fifty products all using the same options. As things are now, when you sell a red shirt, stock only decreases on that one product, but the extension will reduce the stock across all products using the same option, same if you increase the stock levels of one, all will increase.
I have no idea if the AI generated extension will work. No doubt there will be glitches or crashes, but it's fun to experiment.
