Hi, ive been using a live simple opencart 4.0.2.3 for nearly 2 years, standard theme and its worked fine for our needs.
A while back with no change on our end we noticed all emails going to spam for customers and to ourselfs.
ive checked all the mail settings which is smpt at present, we forward them onto a gmail email - tried using our host (hostinger) as the smpt and gmail, both of which still send all email to gmails Spam folder.
now ive upgraded to opencart 4.1.0.3 and still same occurs...
any pointers how to overcome the spam issue would be great thanks

Use an online email deliverability tester such as mail-tester.com to see how it rates the emails you store sends.

1. Set up proper SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for your domain via your DNS provider.
2. Use your own domain-based email e.g. info@yourdomain.com with SMTP authentication.
3. Avoid spam-triggering words in email templates and ensure your mail server IP isn't blacklisted.

Noticed the same issue—emails that were landing in inboxes are now suddenly hitting spam folders. This could be due to recent changes in spam filters, a drop in domain reputation, or missing SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. Worth checking your email headers and verifying if your IP or domain got flagged.
