Has Isenselabs abandoned OpenCart?

I was just looking at extensions and spotted this on an IsenseLabs extension:

Thank you for using iSenseLabs extensions. Starting January 13, 2025, our OpenCart modules will continue to be available “as-is,” and we will no longer be providing maintenance or support.

I can't find any announcement on their website or here that pertains to the possible dropping of OpenCart by these folks.
There are a number of extensions that IsenseLabs has such as Square https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rou ... n_id=31311 that lots of folks use...what happens to these if there is no support?
Is someone else taking over their extensions?
Not going to buy another of their extensions if there is no support at all as it wasn't uncommon for my site to need some help with one of their extensions not working well.
Time to find alternatives I assume...

I see them since a longer time not providing new version or updates for newer OpenCart versions.
Also no new extensions.

Seems that they are focusing on Shopify now and leave OC alone ..
Better not to buy anything else from them.

Free extensions are not the problem, those can be edited by everyone.
Paid modules as well, but has to be done either by yourself or find a developer - that's OpenSource!

A few days ago I talked with another coder/developer. He said: sales has dropped. OC is not interesting anymore. Some years agoanother coder told me, that a "certain person" has destroyed OC. Coders are moving somewhere else. Sad to see, but if people can't handle the temptation of greed and power, then ...

What a pity, that Opencart is dying. I have used it 10 years and still do. I am lucky to know some good coders, who can help, if I run into problems OR need custom work.

When will we say "Opencart, RIP"?

I don't think OC is dying, just needs care and attention and appreciation of what it stands for.

As a small business owner who likes poking at the innards of things, I like the flexibility of OC which the boxed solutions don't provide.

There are any number of good coders here who are only too happy to help those of us who get in over our heads. And I really appreciate their help!

I'd say there is a lot of life in OC yet.

The problem with Opencart:

• The checkout process sucks.
  Enhanced SEO is nonexistent
  Signup bots hit the controllers directly
  Takes a bit of work to get an Opencart store PCI compliant.
  Most plugins are subpar and it is risky buying them because they get abandoned so easily.
  Most themes are flat out ugly
  The events model is a bit convoluted
  Version 4 requires PHP 8+

Of the issues above, the checkout process is the worst. So many ghost orders and customers are not very good at inputting information which causes the ghost orders.

I have a bunch of personal sites running OC 3 and my regular day job I used OC 3 as the CMS but rewrote all the pricing, checkout, shipping and added a fabric.js design tool, extensions to the product management and hundreds of other major changes. Unfortunately my employment agreement forbids me from giving back.
