Hello, y'all! Following the install guide from this site. I get to step 3, fill out the form: Please enter your database connection details. I click continue, I can hear my hard drive getting busy, but It stays on step three. If I click continue again, it goes through the same process telling me to Please enter your database connection details again. I tried renaming the install folder, but when I open the url, it wants I get 404, page not found.

It DOES create all the tables in the DB I created. Note that I successfully installed phpbb using the same credentials, (This is for testing purposes on a virtual Win 11 box, running ammps. Similar to xamp, which I could never get running.

Where the heck are the relevant logs and what are their names? I searched the entire Cart folder(s) and can find nothing from today. Lots from yesterday...

Welcome to Opencart and the forum.

Opencart 4 is any version is not suitable for live sites (or users with no Opencart experience generally). Please use Opencart 3.0.4.0 or 3.0.4.1, you can download them here https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... ad/history

You can find the installation guide here (as well as invaluable information you will undoubtedly require)
https://docs.opencart.com/en-gb/installation/

You will find the forum rules here (there are various version within the topic category but this will be sufficient to explain the information required before posting, notably in your case there is no mention of any Opencart version in all four digits). viewtopic.php?t=200480

With specific regard to your comments
Renaming the install folder is wrong.
Putting the store in a folder requires an edit to the htaccess.
This is probably the issue - https://github.com/opencart/opencart/issues/9785
... but going back to the best advice youwill get - dont use Opencart 4 (as it stands today that is still the current position)
