Hello, i recently upgraded my opencart from a very very old version to the new 4.1.0.0 , this ended up being a lot of work, i had someone from this forum here do the job for me... was about 3 months over the time frame they quoted, but now I do finally have an functioning website again.... but im having more issues and they aren't replying to my emails any longer.

When someone places an order in our webstore... sometimes, it will work wonderfully, the order will place, we will get paid, and it shows up right in the opencart menu, I print the invoice and we are all happy. Sometimes, and honestly 8 times out of 10, the order will not be placed however, it will be in our menu as Voided. I did not void it, and the customer says they did not void it either, but they said the site would simply not allow them to place the order. I would say in the month ive had my new site up and working, this has happened to 30 of the 40 orders placed. I never had this happen with the previous version of opencart, so im not really sure what to do. Is this an opencart issue? or is it on my terminal end, square inc? How do i find out? Some work wonderfully, and show a status of completed. Some just dont process, and say voided.

I'm at my wits end with this at the moment, any help would be appreciated

How are your order status set in both the OpenCart settings and your payment extensions?

Have you contacted the developer of the payment extension?

Sorry, but why are you even using OC 4.1.0.0? It has a number of known issue, and the 4.1.0.x series is still subject to bugfixes and some development. You should at least wait until the upcoming 4.1.0.4. Or, if you want an instant solution, you should use the stable OC 3.0.4.1.

Okay, so to anyone here....

How would i go about changing my open cart version to an older one? I am using it because that is what the person told me I had to run lol, I'm not running it because i like it or anything. I just want my site to work lol

what is the most stable way to take payments through open cart? is there one that would work better then paypal, i prefer not to use that

When changing an OpenCart version, I'd always do a fresh install first. Then use e.g. the Export/Import tool to copy your data over to the newly installed OpenCart, see also our FAQ on this. Finally, re-install you other extensions, e.g. web theme, payment extension, etc.
