Hi good day
Glad to hear that the 3.0.4.x version is still being updated.
3.0.40 is working great for me.
Does it worth it to upgrade from 3.0.4.0 to 3.0.4.1 ?
I would say yes but not sure.
If yes, what would the easiest and less troublesome way would be to upgrade?
thanks!

It is usually not a good idea to be on the bleeding edge of updates...but Mona explains it far better than I can here:

Thanks John,
I agree with you but in this case since the changes have been pretty much fixes and the 3.0.4.x branch is pretty mature I imagine it could be pretty safe to update. But not sure about it.
Also the general concensus aming the community memebers is that the Open Cart native update feature usually causes issues, hence they almost always recommend a fresh install but not sure if this applies to such a close/similar update... from 3.0.4.0 to 3.0.4.1

What would I do?
1. Clone the current live webshop (create a subfolder, copy all files to that and make a copy of the database)
2. Then, copy the new files from the 3.0.4.1 release over the cloned.
3. Adopt the database (change to the also copied database).
4. Adopt the .htaccess inside the new folder (if used)
Test now.
It should work "out-of-the-box".
If not (what I do not expect), just report it here .. and wait with the update until fixed ..

One question,.... waht do you mean by 3. Adopt the database (change to the also copied database). Not sure waht adopt means in this conctext..
Thanks
Sorry, meant that you adopt the 2 config.php (catalog and admin) to use the copied database and NOT the original.
Copy also the ORIGINAL database and name the NEW (copied) for example: mydb_copy (and use therefore this name for further connections) in your test environement - as long as you test ..

I really like using MaxD's Test Site extension.https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=33673 for $20 you get a site that is a of yours that you can then break at will while trying out changes! You can edit the config files to set a new DB, however MaxD's Test Site ALREADY duplicates the DB so no real risk to breaking that either.
Max lives in The Ukraine and provides great support even with the !@#$!@@# Russian danger...
