Hi everyone,

I currently run a WooCommerce store that sells performance-oriented footwear: https://theoncloudshoes.com

We’re considering switching to OpenCart for a lighter, more customizable experience. Before jumping in, I wanted to ask:
  • What’s the best tool or method for migrating all product data, orders, and customer info from WooCommerce to OpenCart?
  • Are there any known issues with large inventories (we have around 500 SKUs)?
  • Suggestions for themes or modules that work well for fashion or athletic shoes?
Any insights from folks who’ve made a similar transition would be hugely helpful.

Thanks in advance!

There's a service called Cart2Cart, but generally we find if a site has custom features it's better that we do it, so this is a service we offer.

Nope, as long as you use a CSS-only theme, have a good server, and consider a caching extension like Lightning.

Welcome to openart!

If you want a modern, customizable stack with full control,

Code: Select all

Next.js + Medusa
is a great choice. But if you prefer a more traditional, all-in-one system with a familiar admin experience, OpenCart still works well—especially with the right theme and extensions. Both can handle your needs; it really depends on how much flexibility vs. simplicity you’re looking for.
