We are considering using Authorize.net on our 3.0.4.0 store.
Enabled it and saw that when we go to checkout, the final enter the card details asks for the "Card Owner Name"
That seems like a bit of a conversion killer considering the billing name was already entered in the checkout process. Am I missing something?

This is the stock authorize.net extension that is included with OC.

Do you use Authorize.Net (AIM) or Authorize.Net (SIM) ? Does it use an IFRAME for entering the card details? Or does it redirect to its payment gateway to enter the card and name details?

Hi, per the post subject, we are using (AIM) which means the details are entered right in the site.
Seems very weird, if that's how it's done, that the customer has to enter their name again. That would be a no-go for us as that's one extra trivial step that could affect conversion

Well, it is possible that the billing address or billing name from the OpenCart checkout might not be the same as the one used for the payment gateway, but the email addresses (if required by the payment gateway amongst other details) always has to be the same one as the used on the OpenCart end.

It might be possible to autofill the name in the final step for the payment gateway via a simple JQuery script because it appears the payment card details are entered on your OpenCart site, not on the redirected payment gateway, unless it uses an IFRAME on your OpenCart end, in which case it's really entered onto then payment gateway.

I'm not 100% sure but if I'm remembering correctly that field isn't actually used for anything. You could just hide it and it shouldn't affect card processing.

No, it was the same (I'm testing it). Seems weird that it would be ask to retype something added previously.
Thanks anyway

Good idea, I'm going to try that and hopefully it will process without flagging it as fraud
