I am just setting up site and notice that when you sell an item it is still shown on the site but I would like it to be removed from site automatically when sold. Is there any way of doing this? Cheers

I think you might need an extension to hide out of stock items.

Better to disable them rather than hide them.

Some people will want them totally hidden, perhaps you could make that an option?

The request and the extension are for the front end, where grgr is correct "hiding" them is not a good idea.
I presume you are talking about the back end where hiding is not a problem.

You are aware that there is a button in admin => products => data tab => scroll to bottom and there is a status dropdown where you can disable it?

If you can't find an extension, you could pay a developer such as ourselves or post a job in the Commercial Support Forum.

For example, in
catalog/model/catalog/product.php

Code: Select all

`p`.`status` = '1'
You can add

Code: Select all

AND `p`.`quantity` > 0
Or you might want to consider paid work.
