I've got a few OC 1.5.6.5 sites running. The built in captcha works fine on them all.nootkan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 12:55 amWas wondering if it is possible to remove the captcha feature entirely from OpenCart as they don't work anymore. I've tried uninstalling from modules, removing all instances of recaptcha/captcha php files from every folder on the server and removed the vqmod for it, even looked in the database, but it still shows when I view the contact and review forms. I have deleted all cache and browser history as well.

I also run a few websites using other platforms besides my opencart store and can say from experience none of the recaptchas I've ever tried block the more advanced bots which seem to be everywhere these days. Even google v3 or 2 gets bypassed by them.
Only one plugin for WP that I found handled them efficiently and WP removed it from their repository because it conflicted with Akismet which in my opinion didn't come close to it.
I just purchased the spamshield extension so we'll see if that works or not.

Nope it was a security plugin that blocked everything. I believe it was called wp-spamshield or similar.WaxedPerfection wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 7:08 pm#
