can you please help me to understand a post here in forum about the order email alert to the admin,

I want to expand the order alert email send to the admin by some informations: customer name, customer surname and customer email.
I have made the changes explained by BHickman step 1 to 3. The email arrives, the text for the Customer name, surname are in the email available, but the "values" for this information are not available.
I cannot understand exactly Step 4 and the comments made by "sw!tch".
My messages to HBrickman and sw!tch remained unanswered.
I suppose that the comments made by the "sw!tch" are here essential to insert the desired data, but i can't understand this comments, please see the attached file.
Can somebody explain what I need to do here? What must I do here exactly?
I'm not a programmer, but I can successfully edit files following an understandable explanation.

In the catalog\controller\mail\order.php, after "$order_info = $this->model_checkout_order->getOrder($order_id);" around line 359, have you added "$data['telephone'] = $order_info['telephone'];", etc.?
