Hi All, I have read through several threads but still not be able to solve my issue, I am using SMTP with host ssl://email-smtp.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com , port 2465 , I have verified the connection is working. Opencart 3.0.2.0
I think I have pin pointed to the problem to the fact that the some of the code such as register and checkout is using SMTP Username instead of the email address set in settings as the from ? Does anyone know where this should be changed and has anyone experienced the same issue? gmail and other sensible SMTP servers use the email address as username however Amazon is using a unique ID e.g XXXXXF5BZ2PCZTXXXXXX as the username this seems to be the only difference I think causing it to fail?
Many thanks in advance!
Shane.
Nope, I don't think the SMTP username is the issue here - I have used other mail service providers where the username is a unique ID and not an email address and the emails send out fine. I've also set up AWS SES for a few clients before but I did it through Exim instead of through OpenCart's SMTP settings.s_gos_uk wrote: ↑Sat Jun 01, 2024 5:28 amHi All, I have read through several threads but still not be able to solve my issue, I am using SMTP with host ssl://email-smtp.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com , port 2465 , I have verified the connection is working. What is the issue you are facing? Are there any errors? Some elaboration could be helpful.
You might also want to try using "tls://" instead of ssl for SMTP Hostname, and check if your server has the port 2465 blocked.
