Looking for some advise please:
If I created a coupon code to welcome new accounts. What's to stop guest purchasers also using that same code if passed to them?
When I ran a test where I created a coupon as a welcome discount for new accounts with one-time usage per customer, that worked great but when checked out as a guest I was also able to use that same code repeatedly?
Am I doing something wrong or is this correct?

That would mean it only works once ever.
So you probably mean uses per customer ... but how does the system know if someone is using different guest accounts?

True but they wrote "I created a coupon code to welcome new accounts".... so one coupon code per new account and the account holder should be the only one using it. Take note that subscription payments can also be set, therefore, coupon codes could also be reused based on these terms.
