I've just done a fresh install (never used opencart before) and am getting the following errors:
Warning: mkdir(): Permission denied in /var/www/html/system/storage/vendor/twig/twig/src/Cache/FilesystemCache.php on line 50
Warning: file_put_contents(/var/www/html/system/storage/logs/error.log): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/html/system/library/log.php on line 38

Apache, mysql database and php is installed.
I think it's opencart 4.1.0.0
I find it strange that I don't need to set up a config file.
Many thanks.
First of all: IF using OpenCart 4.x, use the latest version: 4.0.2.3georgefeichter wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 7:14 pm.. I've just done a fresh install (never used opencart before) and am getting the following errors ..

Second: I'm sorry to say this (but is written in this forum a few hundred times ..); don't use OC 4.x at this time (too many bugs).
Better use 3.0.xxx (will be the new 3.0.4.0) from here: https://github.com/opencart/opencart/tree/3.0.x.x
Why?
Full compatible with php 8.x, all known bugs are fixed, stable and many extensions for that available at the OpenCart Marketplace.

Look in the index.php file and it will tell you which version you are installinggeorgefeichter wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 7:14 pmHi

There is a configuration file in the root and in the admin folder. You need to rename them during the upload process from config-dist.php to config.php

Error shown above seems just permission issue.
Don't worry using latest OpenCart: it's stable enough.

Fact is, the latest (which is currently 4.0.2.3) is not stable enough to use in production mode.

Wrong! OpenCart 4 is still subject to development and many bugfixes, just take a look at github.hpwebdesign wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 12:23 pmDon't worry using latest OpenCart: it's stable enough.
