Is there a problem with OC 4.0.2.2 and users trying to shop using Apple devices?
I had an issue with 4.0.2.1, so moved to 4.0.2.2 and it looks like maybe the issue is still there.
Customers trying to shop using Android devices and other non-Apple devices seem to be able to shop successfully. Customers with Apple-based devices can put items into their shopping cart, the cart says it has items, and when they access the cart -- the cart is empty! Nothing to buy.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this something that has been fixed? Pending?

The information you have given is not enough. Please provide the APPLE device name, IOS or MAC version, browser name,
error log, and your website URL. After that, someone will be able to give you an answer.

The Safari browser is notorious for having bugs. If you can provide more details someone can look into it, and maybe find a workaround for this browser.

Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Tag Manager * Survey Plus * OpenTwig

I had multiple customers unable to place orders on 4.0.2.1. Customers who failed used iPhones, Macs, etc.
Just completed transition to 4.0.2.2
Had ONE customer test and it failed! So the problem is still there.
Customer used a Safari browser on a Mac Air Laptop
NO errors in the log

However, if 4.0.2.2 does have a problem, fixing it just for a Mac Air Laptop is not the solution -- if Apple devices can not place orders on OC, this is a huge chunk of the market.
So my question is more generic -- have OC 4.0.2.2 sites successfully processed orders from customers using Apple devices?
Any assistance would be most appreciated

Well, OC v.4.x is still being updated/fixed on a daily bases, meaning, that it's of little or no use, to play around with it yet, before it can be called production-ready. But that's only me personal view on this. ;)

Which is a totally valid response, and utterly useless. Sorry
What do I tell my customers who want to pay with an Apple device. Sorry, come back later?
Only half of the customer base out there can't shop on my site. That is more than a nuisance. It is a problem if not fixed.
Seriously, can anyone confirm the status of Apple devices shopping on OC4x ?
Is it working? or isn't it working? If not, is someone working on a bug fix?
Reposting to GitHub and see if there is any information there.

It looks like it could be something just with your store. I tested near clean install of 4.0.2.2 and it work as expected. However, your posted URL did not.

It could be something to do with your session cookie path. A working site has "path=/;" whereas your site has "path=\/;"

What is your session_path set to in system/config/default.php?

Thank you for a very constructive response.
Everything was set with defaults. I have not changed any of these.
To answer your question:
$_['session_path'] = !empty($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']) ? rtrim(dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']), '/') . '/' : '/';

Let's just say some people wear a Customer Service hat and some are still looking for one.
Not how I treat my customers...
Shout out to ADD Creative, who went over and above to be helpful and figured out the problem

POSTSCRIPT -- out of curiosity I tried the OpenCart demo (top of the OpenCart home page)
Has the EXACT same behavior! Put things in the cart, get the message, cart is empty.
So the -not-a-bug-you-must-be-crazy is a bug in the OpenCart demo !
I am easily amused ...

What was the cause and solution? I am trying to resolve the same issue on a system before going production with OC4x
