Hi
Surely Apple pay and Google pay should come as standard with Opencart at this stage.
I have noticed that there is no Apple / Google pay extensions available for Opencart to perform the following specific tasks:
a) Purchase single product - Display button on a single product to allow customer to check out with their Apple / Google / Samsung wallet. The extension would need to be able to a) deal with product options like size and colours and b) to add shipping to order total. No extension out there yet for this on Opencart. I find this hard to believe. There was one extension that could do this but developer removed it a few weeks ago. Obviously not working properly.
b) When customer has added items to cart and then clicks on checkout, Apple / Google pay should appear on the first checkout page. This should be the first thing they see. So instead of registering and filling out addresses etc, customer can just touch apple pay and pays for items in cart. Again this would need to calculate shipping.
Both the above would have to have a webhook to add customer order details to back end etc.
The above both features come as standard with Shopify. Not with Opencart. I find this a bit odd.
I think there is huge potential for the above extension to be developed to allow both a and b above.
Probably will have to be integrated with Stripe Payments etc.

My Stripe Payment Gateway Pro extension can do this. It has a "Quick Buy" button feature that you can put on a product page, and if you click it, it will add the item to the cart, show a pop-up to enter shipping address + choose the shipping rate, and then redirect to Stripe Checkout to complete the payment. You can see a demo of the feature on this page:snuggles wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 5:59 ama) Purchase single product - Display button on a single product to allow customer to check out with their Apple / Google / Samsung wallet. I chose to use Stripe Checkout because it lets customers pay with more than just Apple Pay or Google Pay. They can pay with ANY of the payment options that Stripe offers, including both Apple/Google Pay, but also including normal credit/debit cards, Alipay, WeChat Pay, etc.
You can also add the Quick Buy button on the cart page or checkout page, and it will use the same process, but for the entire cart. The button will only add the item to the cart if it's on the product page, and the cart is currently empty. Otherwise, it will use the current products in the cart for the order, so you can put it on any other page and it will still work.b) When customer has added items to cart and then clicks on checkout, Apple / Google pay should appear on the first checkout page. I realize you have to be using Stripe to take advantage of that feature, but if you are considering signing up for Stripe or already have an account, it could be a good option. Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site, and if you're interested let me know at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have any questions.
We are having the same issue. is it just Stripe that works with Opencart?. We maybe moving to Global Payments, but im not sure that their Apple Pay API works with Opencart, speaking to rep he wasn't sure. Our current payment merchant doesn't have apple pay. Can someone confirm what payment gateways offer Apple Pay and Google Pay?
