I've been running OC 3.x for years using the authorize.net gateway extension with no issues but in the process of updating to a new server I needed to migrate my online store to OC4x primarily so it will be running in PHP8. After being made aware that authorize.net's payment module is no longer "included" I paid for and downloaded an extension for Authorize.net from the marketplace which is tagged as supporting OC4x but according to my developer, it can not even be installed because it isn't compatible with OC4 regardless of what the sales page may indicate. I reached out to the extensions developer a week ago and have not seen a response from Webdesires (the developer).

The extension name is "Authorize.Net Accept Hosted (iFrame) Payment Gateway" and while I wasn't thrilled to have to purchase something that had been included for free earlier, the $79 isn't awful and can help the community :) . Unfortunately though if it doesn't work, well, that's a problem ??? . Are others using this extension successfully in OC4 and if not, are others processing payments in OC4x through Authorize.net using something different?

OC4 is not ready for live sites. Please search the forum for the numerous posts about it.
In these posts you will find numerous references to using OC3.x.x.x maintenace branch, which supports php8 and has the link to download it.

I had a similar situation, sadly, you should downgrade your site to the previous stable release as 4.1 is yet not suitable for production

Interesting, I think my developer indicated that it wasn't "stable" but didn't indicate it was beta. I just need to migrate my server to run php8 for a pending migration to newer equipment and to avois security issues that might have related to older software versions. I'd have been fine stayting with oc#x if I knew it could be run from php8. Is 4.1 considered "beta" or a full release but not really ready for public usage.
Thank you both for responding and providing that information. As a lot of work was done here already it may be too late to revert to 3.x. My dev seems knowledgeable so I guess we'll find out how much so. Next time maybe I'll begin my investigation in the forums.
