Hello,
OC newbie here, running a fresh install of 3.0.3.8 with default theme and no mods.
I'm trying to work out how to create a product for event registration where I need to capture the name of each registrant. Where I'm getting stuck is with the quantity button as someone could order more than one registration but is only presented with one text box for one name. How do you force the input of a text field for each & every item?

You can add additional fields to products that are required I believe?
But surely there are extensions designed to add a load of event-type features?

You can indeed add fields - I've added a name field but it doesn't appear to apply to each individual instance of a product i.e. if you select to add two of them, you only see one of those name field boxes.paulfeakins wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 11:06 pmYou can add additional fields to products that are required I believe?

I did have a look at extensions, assuming there might be something suitable out there but didn't spot anything. I'll have another look.
I'm trying to do the same thing and curious to know if you have discovered a solution.
When someone registers for the event, in addition to the obvious things like name and address, we need to also get a few other things like their certification level and their number the certification organization assigns to them .
We are a non-profit and not much money on hand, so looking for free options instead of buying an extension.
Any assistance is appreciated since I'm under the gun to get the registration site running very soon.

If you're not opposed to using something other than Opencart a free open source system called Attendize is purpose built for events and ticketing. It can handle tickets and attendees right out of the box:
https://github.com/Attendize/Attendize
If you want to stick with Opencart you'll need an extension like this:

That's interesting - thanks for suggesting. In this instance, we need various cost options available (dinner menu) which it doesn't look like Attendize can do.johnp wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 7:36 amIf you're not opposed to using something other than Opencart a free open source system called Attendize is purpose built for events and ticketing. Also interesting although massive overkill for what we need on this occasion and sadly no budget to cover it.johnp wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 7:36 amIf you want to stick with Opencart you'll need an extension like this:

I've used Opencart to sell tickets for a conference I'm organizing. It's set up to take a delegate name for each ticket and also dietary preference for a ticket including lunch. I was going to use Attendize but stuck with Opencart as it's more flexible. With some customizing I'm happy to report it works well.
