We have installed Opencart 3.0.3.8 to build a decent multseller/multivendor store.
It was clear to us that we need to purchase Marketplace extensions incl. PayPal Commerce etc. for this.
It is also clear to us that investments are necessary.
But then only in a reasonable software.
Installation and handling of Opencart is relatively straightforward and simple. The German translation is also excellent.
And then it started:
1.
We bought the MarketPlace extension from Webkul.
All - but really all pages have to be completely translated into the target language since everything is "only" in English. A translator sits there at least 1 week on it.
We translated the main pages but the module had internal errors, broke the top menu and other things. The Indians (Webkul) then fixed that.
But you can't, for example, create completely separate accounts for "customers only" or for "sellers only".
We always rely on a customer registration and the customer can then optionally become a seller. But that's not the point of the whole thing.
In the end, we paid a lot of apprenticeship money but that's OK. Try makes wise.
We will probably continue to sell the module. it has become pointless for us.
2.
Then we purchased the Multivendor extension from Purpletree Software. Also an indian vendor.
There is a relatively reasonable translation into German included.
But schpn after the first installation, there was a fatal error and the store was completely "shot".
We then reinstalled it, loaded the extension from Purpletree and the Indians then installed the extension.
And yes..... they admitted that not all relevant pages were 100% compatible in conjunction with OC 3.0.3.8.
But that was rectified for all customers.
Anyway.
The registration form is "old-fashioned" and needs to be reworked.
But can not, because always any Bootstrap.css parts from different folders overwrite the Custom.css.
The documentation is geared towards OC versions 2.xx and not 3.xx.
Image representations in the manual are wrong. An endless time expenditure for the contact to the support arises.
The extension is not usable for us. So apprenticeship money no. 2 - but OK
3.
Then we exchanged numerous mails with Knowband.
But they offer split payment only via Stripe and not with a PayPal module. That doesn't help us.
I personally find Stripe more convenient - but you can't convince all customers to switch.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
By now we are all just annoyed and frustrated here.
Does anyone have a concrete solution suggestion or idea?
We are happy to continue investing - but no more "nirvana"
We are almost ready to purchase CS-Cart.
No idea if that will make it better. Try makes wise.
Thanks in advance for ideas.
Gern auch in deutsch :-) aber kein Muss
Based on all the customization you are acquiring from each extensions, you could always create a new service request in the Commercial Support section of the forum to get this done as a custom job.
