Hi:
I'm still struggling with an install. I migrated my categories and products from Squirrelcart, and now I have everything set the way I like it on my desktop computer. But when viewed on a mobile device the left menu disappears and you can't access the categories or menu.
I tried having all the categories up on the top menu, but that was huge because of the number of categories.
I'd like to go without the top menu and just have a side menu, and hopefully the side menu will re-adjust on mobile devices?
I tried removing all the categories from the top menu, but that didn't seem to help, I lost the left menu on both the computer and mobile device
I'm on v3.0.3.8 Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

That is the default functionality of OpenCarts theme, the left column is hidden on small devices.
You can see by the line below in catalog/view/theme/default/template/common/column_left.twig
You could remove hidden-xs, however keep in mind all modules used in the left column will be shown on mobile, and its not exactly “mobile friendly” IMO.
If you require more customization then, you may want to look for a better menu on the marketplace.

Code: Select all

Backup and learn how to recover before you make any changes!
You'll need to completely clear out all your Cache-Sections first, after such a change, to make changes work as planned.

Better for Main menu categories use 2-3 columns....
Because this is ugly....
And disable Category count from settings

I found a sort of "fix" that for anyone that has 100+ categories. Name several Parent Categories as Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 etc. Then break up your other categories and rename them as child categories, for example with Page 1 being the parent. Then, on a mobile device there will just be a few "Page" categories, and when you click on it you see a few subcategories below each "Page".
