Is it possible (and how) to change the OC v3.0.3.8 image upload size limit from 500x500 to 800x800, for example.
Using the theme Energy from TemplateMela, but regarding to their answer, the problem is OC installation related.
Tried to upload bigger size pictures direct to the server in the IMAGE/CATALOG directory, but in the end the uploaded image size used for a product to display was again changed to 500x500.
Please help with a extension to solve this problem (or with a hint where in the code to change the image upload size limit value).

The image sizes are stored in THEMES
Extensions > modules > theme > EDIT
There you will see all the settings for your theme IMAGES.
There is no upload size LIMIT depending on SERVER SETTINGS and STORE SETTINGS etc.
The IMAGE OUTPUT is determined by opencart, NOT the image uploaded.

In store setting > server tab you also have a max file upload size set at 300000.
You may need to increase this depending on your images.
File size and IMAGE size are NOT the same thing.
You can have a 1200 X 1200 IMAGE that is ONLY 1 MB or you can have a 1200 X 1200 that is 25 MB.
It all depends on the compression method used for the images.

Thank you very much for your explanation, all the image uploads are shown now in their true size.
Using Fileoptimizer to get the image size in kb smaller then the limit.
