[1.4.9.3] how to archive old products?

Hi guys

Ok so i have researched and read this, its a quick fix but want to know if anyone has gone further?

Basically just asking if anyone knows of a way to archive a product so it does not appear in the real product list but appears in its own archive product list, with ability to add them back and forth to the real product list.

I know if this does not exist then no worries but just think this would be awesome, but also am looking for anyone who tackeled this issue
