I've just created a new module for the google base feeds that can be used as a replacement for the one currently in place, and should hopefully work with base as it was intended to
Check it out here

Any problems with it let me know :)

I haven't played with it yet, but seems like a good idea since many people do have problems with the google base feed. One thing I would suggest is that even though it's a simple upload and use mod you include a readme file for the people with no knowledge of installing mods.

when it ask you for a filename just make one up. then you will need to edit the schedule and it will have a spot for you to put in your link.

Not sure to be honest. The only thing that it does differently from 1.4.7 is it has the token system. It should still allow you to make the changes. if you get any problems, let me know and I'll correct them for a 1.4.7 version

Look at it with IE8. It gives error details. It's the only thing that IE does well
