Modyfing the menu in the left column

Hello everyone,
I have come across a problem where I am not able to change the menu in the left column. When I go through admin -> Catalog -> Categories and add or change the order of them, it actually changes only the menu that is close to the search box. Well, I suppose it is not even a menu, but I can choose categories and it probably filters my searches. I am not quite sure where should I edit the menu in the left column Thank you in advance

What OC Version and Theme are you talking about ?

Yes exactly, the dropdown menu is the problem. Alright, I will try to contact the theme developer and I hope it helps. Thank you a lot so far
