We have our language urls setup like this
https://www.site.com/en https://www.site.com/de
So it would be great to redirect on browser language to the correct location (OC language)

Hope it's clear now :)

DO NOT force users to see the particular language version, this is just bad in terms of usability. AliExpress always displays me his stupid Russian version just because it finds Russian language in my browser settings. And no matter how many times I changed it to English, it keeps showing me Russian. Don't do the same mistake.

Mmmm, it think for usability it's always good the redirect users to their native language.
Any other suggestions so I can point them to the right language?

No, never good. Some people prefer to use different language. All my devices are in English, yet my native is Russian. I also use different languages like German in purpose of education. I absolutely hate when a site forces me to use Russian instead of the language I prefer.

So just let your customers decide which language THEY want. Not the one that you think is right for them.

We have many customers from different countries. We always get emails from French customers, they want the French site, not the english one.

Then add French version to your site and they will be able to select it by changing the language.

Then simply install the Frech Language Package, enable it and let the visitors click on the Language Flag at the bottom.
As thekrotek already mentioned, redirecting users based on whateversettings (e.g. Browser with x languages) is a very bad practice (hate that too).

Sorry, I have a different view on this. :) Even the big players doing this. For example check indeed.com it's also redirecting to my native language, the dutch site. It's just so easy and less clicks for the visitor.
We already have english, french, german and dutch. So what's the best way to do this?

You have a different view, because you're not a professional. But we all here are and we gave you not just a different view, but a professional advice.

Like I said, AliExpress also does it and it's plain awful for those who don't want to be forced.

You already have it. OpenCart checks browser language, when user visits the site for the first time and displays the site in corresponding language. This information is saved in session and cookies, so next time customer sees the site in previously selected language. If you add a redirection every time customer visits your site, then cookies and session won't be respected.

You may have any opinion on this you want, but this is just bad. Visitor's choice MUST be respected.

No!
What do you think .. ?
The Webstore owner has the right to do what he wants.
He is the "Master" of his site ..
When he decides that every visitor shall be redirected automatically - no matter if usefull, makes sense or whatever, he has the right to do so.
Because he knows everything, he is just surfing here around and asking questions.

*Sarcasm off**

Let him do and think the way he wants.
Every single letter more is a waste of time.

Ok I'll try again.....

You maybe right I'm a noob in OpenCart :) It's my first OpenCart website.

So you mean this is professional advice? 🤯"because you're not a professional." ? You don't know me :)

I'm in web development and marketing business for over 25 years, mostly WordPress. I can tell you it works fine for us and our clients.

I just want an extension that redirects NEW visitors to the correct country url, that's all. Not by clicking a flag first. If they wanne change the language later that is fine.

I told you already, that OpenCart ALREADY selects the language for NEW customers according to their browser preferences.
