Hi,

My store has got a few thousands products within it and I'm wishing to add a 10% coupon off all products - unfortunately this is going to take AGES by hand, is there an extension or any way of doing this quickly?

Thankyou :-) O0

I'm guessing I could write a PHP script to add the products into the database in the three fields which are related to the coupon. Can anybody explain the field values please?

I'm using v1.4.7 and if I just leave the products filed blank, the coupon works for everything.

Correct.

Choose no products and it applies to ALL products

Right now the wording under the Products section is:

Code: Select all

Select no products to apply coupon to entire cart.
Maybe "entire cart" should be changed to "all products"?

Well, that means that ANTYHING in the cart gets the discount, which then means, ALL PRODUCTS. Does it not? Also, a coupon only applies to the PRODUCTS IN THE CART. There are no DISCOUNTS on PRODUCTS, the coupon is applied to the CART.

Yes, I understand how the original wording was intended -- I was just making a suggestion because the wording was confusing to the original poster. The full wording is:

Code: Select all

Choose specific products the coupon will apply to. Select no products to apply coupon to entire cart.
To match the first sentence (which talks about a coupon applying to products, not a cart), the second sentence should as well. I think this is much clearer:

Code: Select all

Choose specific products the coupon will apply to. Select no products to have coupon apply to all products.

entire cart vs all products is like saying

If a bomb goes off it will kill the entire population or
if a bomb goes off it will kill all people..

its the same... we're all dead
