What is a syntax error
It is an error by using incorrect code
for example ( 4+2 = 6 is a syntax error because ( is opened but not closed .. so the ) is mising causing a syntax error because the computer is unable to understand where the ) should be
how do I overcome it?
You could try to fix it yourself using the information provided below:
Fatal error: Uncaught Twig\Error\SyntaxError: An opened parenthesis is not properly closed. Unexpected token "name" of value "and" ("punctuation" expected with value ")"). in

/home/gpphygie/oc in /home/gpphygie/oc_storage/modification/catalog/view/theme/journal3/template/product/product.twig on line 115

Whatever you just installed - uninstall it - contact the extension developer that caused the error and ask them to fix.

I found a developer to resolve on our behalf as realised very quickly this was above our limited knowledge.
Store is now back online. No idea what they did!
Thank you all for replies and checking back.
