I have an Opencart store running on v2.3.0.2 since a few years now. It has accumulated a lot of images, code files(from unused or defunct extensions), DB tables, all of which are probably no longer of any use. Instead of doing a cleanup at this point, it would be easier for me to set up a new store from scratch.

My question here is, is it worth upgrading to a 3.x version, or is 2.3.0.2 good enough. Almost all of my extensions are available for both versions. From what I have read so far 3.x offers little new compared to 2.3.x. Is it worth upgrading or not? Is there a 3.x version at the same level of stability as 2.3.0.2?

Well, that's a good Question...! But whatever you decide on, better leave your
2.3.0.2 Installation, as it exists, and create a new OC3 Installation, then, you
could always switch back, if you run into any problem with OC v.3.x. You then
just have to get the Database Content from your existing DB, to have your
Customers and Products again.
Good Luck!

OC 3 is basically OC 2.4, it has nothing worth upgrading.

Strictly technically, you could test-install one ( or more... ) of the
updated 2.3.0.2 Versions, or then, compare their content with yours, to
make sure, to solve most problems, still found in the default 2.3.0.2.
CONDOR2 created two Versions, among others, and it might pay out, to
invest some time into this, just to make sure .... ;)
Just create a couple of spare 2.3.0.2 Databases from yours, to play around.
Good Luck!

V3 has more multi-lingual support though that seems to have been thrown together at the last minute.

My opinion would be if you have a complex 2.3 version that is running fine then probably leave it unless there is a specific reason to move to 3 such as an extension or feature you need.

If you are starting a new store, use the latest 3.x.

Wow, unanimous decision here for 2.3.0.2.

Guess I'll be sticking to the same version then.

Thank you guys, you're the best.
