I have tried to figure this out to my wits end. Normally this is just adjusted in the main opencart settings on "products shown per page". In Journal2, this setting still changed it....however, in Journal3....apparently not. I have changed it from 12 to 25 to 50 and all over....stays at 12 on the actual website no matter what setting is in there. This leads me to believe there is a setting in the Journal3 section....I have looked everywhere. Tried changing ones I thought was it...nothing. I can't even figure out how to get it to go from Grid View as the default to List....I am gonna assume they are in the same spot.

https://www.teambrood.com/scaler-motors

Example of a section....I would like to set it at 50 instead of 12.....

And yes, I tried asking Journal3 support....got told they could help me if I renewed support for $40....seems a bit steep to just point me where to adjust something......especially since I have paid it twice before and used it ONCE.

Thanks

Eddie

Is there any reason why you can't use a proper web theme? Most likely the forum moderator will mark this thread as 'Unsupported' soon!

If you used a proper OpenCart theme then the number of products listed at a time on a category page would simply be configured at:

Extensions > Extensions > Themes > edit > Default Items Per Page

Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Tag Manager * Survey Plus * OpenTwig

A proper web theme? I have used Journal for years....it works, does lots of stuff, I like it.....plus I already paid for it. Sorry you don't like it, but I really don't care your opinion on it....wasn't what I was asking.....yet you took the time to be insulting over me asking a simple question about learning to navigate the newest version.

Thanks for wasting space though....hopefully you find yourself useful now.

Not only JNeuhoff, but every decent developer hates Journal and there're many good reasons for this. Basically he suggested you to replace this stupid theme with something less faulty and troublesome. I can only second him in this. Good advice.

Let alone for any Journal related issues you have to contact their support. Journal is not welcomed here.

Could you be so kind to tell me... a theme or framework like journal?
With journal I can do hundred things..all I need I find it in journal.
Could you recommend me something similar?
Thanks!!

What exact theme-related stuff do you need to do so as to require Journal framework for it rather than a web theme?

Most of the Journal framework has nothing much to do with a web theme. Journal3 is actually several times bigger than a whole standard OpenCart, with many bells and whistles re-invented and loads of non-theme related extra functions, nothing wrong with the latter (except for the poor implementation techniques). So for all intense and purpose it's morphed into its own ecommerce software and shouldn't be treated as an OpenCart system anymore.

Perhaps Journal should offer its own support forum for its framework, just like other ecommerce systems like shopify, woocommerce, etc., do.

The truth is I am looking for an all in one.
I know I want the easy way.
Today I am very familiar with journal, according to the client ... I do exactly what he requests and in record time.
In journal I found that whatever the client tells me they want, I give it to them.
I also have clients with monthly service, and many times they ask me for things, add something and with journal I do it in minutes.
I reiterate that I know perfectly well that I want the easy way.
I know that manually, or with the appropriate extension I can do whatever, but personally with journal that I know how to use it very well I have no limit "with my Clients". It happens to me that they see other websites and tell me ... I want that!

Sorry for all this I wrote, if you know another framework that does this or something similar, that gives me the option to put things where I want, ... I thank you for updating me, because I really don't know.

thanks for your time.

@ LorenaUY:
Thank you for your feedback.

So which of the features you use (or change upon customers' requests) are actually about web theme changes?

And what other non-theme related features in the Journal3 package do you use that OpenCart doesn't yet provide?

Hi Eddie,

I've used Journal for 1 1/2 years and also think it has great features. If the haters on here spent their time creating a fantastic, bug free, Open Cart compliant template loaded with features targeted to the end user that might be time well spent. But instead they offer negative, derogatory comments to everybody who uses Journal even when the problem has nothing to do with Journal! These types probably always blame their customers for a problem (if they have any), no matter the circumstances. Bad business practices defined!

Regards,

Paul
