Hi all,

We are starting to suffer around 10 to 20 fake registrations a day, together with fake Returns and fake Affiliates.

They all have different IP and different emails, so we can't stop them at that point.

What is the best way to stop these please?

Try Ninja Firewall and CIDRAM. CIDRAM is a bit like ZB Block. It blocks traffic from known spammers. I use it on all my OC sites and it works fine. It's often misunderstood in the way it works but I can honestly say it's worth having. IMO of course.

We have reCaptcha, but it doesn't stop Registrations, unless we are missing something?

...Ahhh ok,may have been missing something here. We have just set it for Registrations in the Settings. Thanks.

Our Spambot Buster will do the job, no more fake registrations, and no spam messages coming from the Contact Us page. No need for captchas.

Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Tag Manager * Survey Plus * OpenTwig

I have same issue. I already have Google Captcha, but fake registration still happens. You mentioned you resolved this by changing Google Captcha 'registration' setting. I have no idea where this particular settings issue. Please can you advise, along with any other steps you took to stop fake registrations?

Most Captchas are easily overcome these days by spambots! That's why we implemented a different approach in our SpamBot Buster extension, with invisible honeypot traps and checking for certain mouse/touch/keyboard events to distinguish between genuine human users and automated spambots, with the latter being rejected for the session or permanently.

Try this modification, it turns v2 into v3 (silent captcha). Don't forget to update the keys.

Thank you. I found another V3 plug-in earlier today, installed that so will see how I get on it blocking fake registrations now.

After over 50+ fake registration every day i found that all are from Russia. I used extension (my version is 3.03.6) and there is no new attempts. The extension link: https://opencartbot.com/en/stop-war

I believe it would be important to state that this extension's description also state that it is not compatible with PHP 8 releases.

But its maximum OC version is 3.0.3.8 which is not compatible with PHP 8 so that's kind of obvious?

Another and better reason to state it.
