I posted this, it was moved, the original post was ignored although there were other comments, and then locked.

This topic has now been moved to the OpenCart 3.0 Support > Feedback section of the forum.
Is all criticism banned here or something?

I can't make a bad review about an extension? Gets dropped by the developer. Which is censorship.

I can't see how you can award stars for an extension - that seems to be handled in the Wizards castle?

I make a serious post and it gets ignored and locked?

If there are issues, then you need to sort out the core of the problem. Not block commentary.

Yes, I have been involved in open source for 20+ year so I know what is involved. A lot of a bloody hard work with little appreciation.

The only answer to criticism is to make the product better. Tackle the criticisms head on. Don't ignore them and hope they will go away. Because if they do, they take their cash with them.......

Absolutely not. They are not all banned. However, as I have explained multiple times on the forum already, there are limits to which barriers can be crossed. Posting feedback regarding the quality of the platform is one thing but one-to-many users putting their foot down on it is about something else that the forum does not need to support for. Opencart is a free platform and opened to everyone to use it. Those who dislikes it is under their total discretion but the severity level of those provided feedback are being monitored.

Dedication and passion goes to those who are able to push and merge a project.

I'll also add to the comment.

If developers can choose which reviews to post then the review system for an extension is hardly free and fair. No wonder there are no bad reviews. I still understand how they get a star either. That seems buried too. So the marketplace is really just a tank full of piranhas, and quite frankly best avoided.

I have also just realised that an extension developer cleverly and CLEARLY advertises 12 months support in the marketplace, BUT if you bother to go and read their Licence details buried on their site you find out that may only be 3 months, but nothing obvious, and then you install it and find that you only get updates for 6 months. Really? 12 months support but only updates for 6? And even then it is still installed on your system but is has to pull half the code from their server so it is half spyware. And I guess they will just pull the plug after the 6 months with their 'licence' checks. Who knows.

It really is a joke (and it isn't the first extension I have had issues with either with people saying it can do one thing, but it turns out that may not be until the "next version" etc)

OpenCart is a very nice platform and has some great potential. But some of the devs attitudes round here leave a huge amount to be desired. It really is very sad.

A lot more Q&A should be exercised - they are quietly making fools of some people, which will lose you customers on the platform. So OpenCart loses even though it is not your code that is the issue.

Hey ho.
