Hello. I use the Static Assets Url function of Journal 3 (https://docs.journal-theme.com/faqs/jou ... ic-assets/)

Everything works correctly except at the level of the account / login, account / account, checkout / checkout etc etc etc ... pages. The icons disappear.

For all other pages, categories, products, information ... No problem.

Journal tells me it's not a problem with them.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you letxobnav for your informed answer but I am very happy with the Journal I have been using for years. There is surely an explanation and / or a solution to this problem.

As stated in my first post: Journal tells me it's not a problem with them.

That's why I come to ask and ask the question here.

I am not saying you should not use journal, I am saying that there is no benefit whatsoever in using separate sub domains for static assets.

It may be a little faster because it tries to fool the browser to allow more parallel connections but once you deploy http/2 instead of http/1.1, that benefit is gone and all that remains is the hassle of maintaining sub-domains and the related CORS issues (which you now have).
And the claim that it is then cookie-less and therefore reduces payload is a non-starter.

It's a Journal theme anyway, you will hardly get much support for it here.

OK I understand your argument.

This seems to answer the problem then: https://opencart-api.com/faq/no-access- ... -resource/

I would not blindly copy and paste htaccess content from the internet unless you know what it does.

After a lot of research, and especially several reminders from JOURNAL support who had initially replied that it was not a JOURNAL problem. Which is true since it is a server programming problem. If that can help for others here is the response from the JOURNAL support and which works very well:
Implementing static assets url requires some server configuration knowledge, paste this code in your .htaccess file to disable cors check for fonts:

<FilesMatch ".(eot|otf|ttf|woff)">
Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*"
</FilesMatch>

If a certain non-default server setting is required for Journal to function then it is a Journal problem so it is correct that they should fix it.

Fully agree. Especially since they have the annoying habit of thinking that they are beyond reproach ...
