Check stock availability on order confirmation

Hello guys.
This is my first post in the opencart forum, so if i make any mistakes please let me know.
I am running an opencart installation, versiont 2.3.0.2, with Journal theme. Today we ran up against the following issue:
Two people can buy, at the same time, the last product/s available, as long as they both enter checkout simultaneously. So that ends with both of them purchase the same products, but the products are available only for 1 of them.
So, is there a way to make opencart check again the stock availability when somene clicks the confirm order button?

I have made exactly such an extension a while ago - but not published until now.
Did not checked the compatibility for the theme (while it is in many things very strange), but should work.
