I see a lot of errors like this in my opencart 3.0.3.2 error log:

Code: Select all

PHP Notice: Undefined index: path in /var/www/vhosts/spinnerij.nl/storage/modification/catalog/controller/product/category.php on line 20
Doesn't seem to effect the cart thought but I am curious what causes it.

Caused by an installed extension. Contact the extension developer to resolved this issue.

In 99% of cases notices are absolutely harmless. Just ignore them, if your store is working fine, don't bloat your head with useless info.

Errors from the storage/modification do not only represent the 1% of the case ...

A pretty low rate considering the 1% as opposed to the mount of incident requests being handled on a day-to-day level. The rate level would definitely need another evaluation based on the error logs being received, either, on the forum or on the Opencart's ticketing system. Granted, not saying that 100% should be considered but neither the 99% to avoid, however.

True but they can eventually fill the log and slow down, then crash the site.

Therefore developers who release code that produces loads of notices suck.

When the debugging mode option is being questioned to the user, it doesn't since they do have the ability to, either, enable or disable it. Then, to clear those logs from the OC admin.

What does this mean in English?
