I am new to the forum and have started exploring Opencart. I am looking to create an all uniform seller ecommerce website.
I have played around a bit with Opencart default theme that has limited capabilities. I am looking to buy a theme that would help me in this effort with minimal modifications and customization. I could not find any theme that is specific to creating just an all uniform store. I found this but it is not supported or sold anymore - https://www.templatemonster.com/opencar ... 49328.html
After looking at several themes i narrowed down to these three - StoreFlex, Journal V3 & Zeexo.
Please let me know your thoughts on this or if you think there is a better alternative than the ones mentioned above. Appreciate your responses.
Thanks
M
1. Use some kind of a 'NEAR' Default Theme, then, most everything else on Code used
will be 'OC standard'-like. Such Themes usually only consist out of a few Theme Files,
and possibly some additional JS Code File(s), in addition to the Theme specific Stylesheet.
A simple sample Site, containing a range of such (OC v.2-type) Themes, can be seen here:
http://www.openshop.li/shop/
---
2. Or then get a Journal (or similar) Theme Extension, but then, OC is no longer just OC,
since such Theme Extensions add a great big bunch (100+) of Custom Files to a default OC
Installation. In addition to the fact, that some other OC Extensions may no longer function,
as they come for an OC default Install.
And when it comes to Support, You might have to rely on the seller of such Custom Themes.

I checked http://www.openshop.li/ and its really cool to see all different kind of themes in action.
I guess, I liked the idea of using some kind of 'NEAR' default theme and to build the customization upon it. But, am also a newbie to the world of php,js,css, even though I do have some development background. So, there will be a learning curve, but am willing to go through this also as an urge to learn new things.
So, do you guys have any recommendation on a near default theme for setting up a uniform store.

And the most exiting thing about is, that, in most cases, only the Custom ThemeI checked http://www.openshop.li/ and its really cool to see all different kind of themes in action.
header.tpl and footer.tpl file need to be used, in addition to the custom Theme
x.JS and x.CSS files, as well as the Images, to have a different looking theme.

Or then, some other Theme Files can be used too, if they have something special,
more beautyful looking in some way. OC checks automatically, and if no Custom
Theme File exists, it just switches to the Default Theme File used instead.
In combination with a ThemeSwitcher Extension, one can leave it to the Customer,
to select, what they like best! AT least in OC Versions below 2.0

I think you are confusing a theme (what the site looks like) with extensions (the added capabilities you are after for your shop)...maxsin wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 5:43 amHello Guys,

Opencart is just a basic empty drawer. The theme is also basic, as it doesn't really allow to change much..
The first thing you should do is to pick the capability you need/want for how you want to operate your shop.. Things like combined item, different options for the same uniform, delivery methods, and so forth. Once you got that sorted, get into the market and start to pick the extensions you need to achieve such results. The theme is the last part of the game. If you want to have lots of control over the aesthetic, the themes you mentioned above are all good options.
Journal does offer several extensions with the theme, but that doesn't mean that, they are the one you will need for your business..
Before you start to spend money left and right, have a good plan and follow it.. If you don't like to get involved in the coding and/or bug fixing (it could happen eventually, when you start to add several extensions), hire someone to do the lot for you.. In the long run, it could be money well spent...
Just my opinion...
