Hello all,
We have active shop which is created on 2.3 (2.3.0.2.2) opencart version. Now we have created new show design using Journal3 on 3.0.3.2 opencart version.
And now we are having problem importing everything from active shop to new. When using default Backup & Restore tool I am usually having errors like
File could not be found!
or something like this Image
But when I am using Export/Import Tool it wont work anyways and usually getting errors like
Invalid header names
or that some categories for products arent defined or something.

I would like to know is there some more proper ways to Export and Import data from older version to newer?

We don't upgrade old version because there we have installed extensions whom's works only with 2.x versions ; )

In general there is absolutely no need to update from the still most stable version 2.3.0.2 to any 3.0x version!
Second, importing and exporting data with the onbiard tolls will never work - they are simply not made for such tasks.
To import the data from 2.x into 3.x you have to
1. export them with phpMyAdmin from 2.x
2. edit the tables
3. import the edited tables into 3.x

Third: you are wasting time with the current update.
Better to wait for the 3.1.x release which should be published in a few months.

Much easier.

1. upgrade active store to 3.0.3.2 then install Journal and import theme settings :)
2. Or you can use phpMyAdmin to transfer categories, products, brands (if import tool doesn't work), then you can use that tool to import customers, order...

So? You can disable them before upgrade if you don't use anymore on 3.x and old store.

But how @OSWorX said, better keep 2.3.0.2 until 3.1 release and maybe will be more stable then 3.0.x versions.

Why? Because 3.1 version can be or not to be stable?

Be stable .. or not to be stable .. that's the question.
Does anyone knows a stable version?

Well, without a well-done amount of humor, one can hardly survive
around here, over an extended period of time. Especially, if one also
looks for fun, and not only for Cash ... ::)

The clue is in the error message, increase the amount of memory available to PHP.
